Atal Tinkering Lab

With an aim of nurturing scientific temperament, making our young innovative minds ready for future’s technological advancements and understanding the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in engaging way, St Teresa School opened ATL in November 2022. ATL facilitates future scientist develop critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and teamwork skills under close guidance and supervision of mentors. Investigative analysis and reasoning are encouraged by superior level project development. Here experiments are done in controlled conditions where any scientific research, experiments and measurements may be performed.

Objectives

St. Teresa School’s ATL aligns with the Government of India's vision to nurture innovation among high school students nationwide, fostering a wave of entrepreneurship and creativity. The key objectives of STS ATL are:

  • To inculcate skills such as Design mind set, Computational thinking, Adaptive learning, and Physical computing.
  • Acting as a bridge between theory and application.
  • Witness the process and results.
  • Witness the process and results.
  • Give learners a ground to test their theories and observe the results in real time.
  • Find innovative solution to the problem.
  • Learn to use the tools and explore the conventions, methods and theories of science.

To meet the above objectives our school has made it mandatory for students of grades IV to XII to participate in ATL activities. And so ATL activities are well intertwined with curriculum.

St. Teresa School is proud of its commendable achievement as ATL School of the Month as a token of its steadfast allegiance to promoting holistic development and fostering a rich and nurturing learning environment within school community.

ACHIEVEMENTS

To encourage and foster entrepreneurship within the school community, STS ATL launched the Centre for Youth Entrepreneurship Centre (CfYE) in April 2024. Further, in alignment with its motto of fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship STS ATL in a short period has accomplished some impossible feats by conducting and participating in different activities ranging from regional and national level competitions, exhibitions, workshops on problem-solving, designing and fabrication of products, lecture series etc both for students and teachers. Some of the testaments to the exceptional efforts put forth by our Atal Tinkering Lab have been its awards, recognitions, certificates and cash prizes won by students, teachers, school and Principal and Other Stakeholders.

  • World Robotics Olympiad – Our students proved their mettle by qualifying for the Delhi regionals after dominating the zonal level in the 18th CBSE World Robotics Olympiad.
  • Inter School Robo Tech Fest – Secured the Second position in Robo Run Event at Gyan Bharti School, Saket, New Delhi in 2024, competing against young talents from 20+ reputed schools, showcasing technical prowess and innovation.
  • Regional Sustainable Innovation Exhibition – Won the winning position and a prize money of Rs. 5000/- in the exhibition organized by Dainik Jagran in February 2024 at Noida Club.
  • Hack-X 2.0 Challenge – Secured the first position, certificates, and prize money of Rs. 5000/- in the Hack-X 2.0 Challenge.
  • STS ATL - A Force in Idea Marathons – Consistently achieving impressive positions in Ideathons and Idea Hackathons, earning a spot in the business pitching round for further support through the Junior Smart India Hackathon, hosted by the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell in January 2024.
  • ATL Tech Hunt 2023 – Won prizes in different categories such as Robotics, Budding Entrepreneur, Game-A-Thon, and 3D-Designing in September 2023.
  • Regional Exhibition by Dainik Jagran and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham – Won the third position, securing a trophy and prize money.
  • Student Entrepreneurship & NEP Vision – STS ATL emphasizes student entrepreneurship, aligning with NEP policies that recognize the role of technology and business in education. Our student entrepreneurs have made the school proud with exceptional initiatives. One notable achievement was St. Teresa School students (UID-2F28852) officially joining TheKidCompany, an online student marketplace, earning a cash award and certification as a Top 500 team nationwide.

STS boosts the potential of its young innovators and tech-savvy learners by empowering them to excel on various platforms and foster hands-on learning as they design and program different innovative projects and sending them and giving them exposure to various engineering colleges during summer vacations.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)

STS is a forerunner when it comes to community service and philanthropy as Philanthropy and Community Service are an integral part of STS’s existence. So sharing knowledge is considered important, especially for those who are deprived.
